William Morris (24 March 1834– 3 October 1896) was an English textile designer, poet, artist,writer, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. He was a major contributor to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. Morris is recognised as one of the most significant cultural figures of Victorian Britain. He was best known in his lifetime as a poet, although he posthumously became better known for his design works. The William Morris Society founded in 1955 is devoted to his legacy and continues to license his remarkable body of designs.Ekelund Master Weavers have been purveyors to the royal court of Sweden for over 100 years. A family-owned mill, Ekelund has been in business for over 300 years, and takes pride in ensuring superior quality down to the finest thread. The Ekelund family has for 18 generations offered artisanal textiles in timeless design. Their present day factory is located in Horred on the Swedish west coast 60 km southeast of Gothenburg.
