A Study Guide of the Biblical Last Days: A Victorious Eschatology

Much of the information in this study guide is the result of a lifelong pursuit of truth. As a young man, I was scared by the teachings concerning the last days. I believe that many people have been traumatized by well-meaning teachers who promote a dispensational futuristic theology that is full of fear. After numerous failed prophecies and predicted dates that have come and gone, perhaps it is time to consider a different perspective onend-time or last-days theology.Consider the possibility that the "last days" are not referring to a cosmic collapse or the destruction of the planet. Many of the scriptures that were translated as "end of the world" are actually mistranslations. Later versions of the Bible have corrected these to "end of the age." One such instance is in Matthew chapter twenty-four when Jesus was asked, “When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the world?" The New King James Version translates this verse as, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?" Hence, these verses are not talking about the end of the natural world, but the end of that age which culminated in the destruction of the temple in AD 70.
